New Blu-ray Disc™ players and Home Cinema systems from Sony will redefine the way you experience home entertainment.
With its capability to stream music, movies and online video from all kinds of places, a Blu-ray Disc™ player is fast becoming the centrepiece of your home entertainment set-up.
In 2011, you can enjoy even more of the best of the web. With channels and services being added to BRAVIA Internet Video all the time, it’s now even easier to watch what you want, whenever you want.
You can browse popular video sharing sites such as YouTube™ and DailyMotion™ or catch up on TV programmes you missed with BBC iPlayer — all from the comfort of your sofa. You can even visit your favourite websites and search the Internet through your TV screen using an Opera web browser.*
And with Qriocity™ Video on Demand and Music Unlimited from Sony you’ll be able to rent classic films or the latest Hollywood blockbusters and discover millions of music tracks, all through your Blu-ray Disc™ system.
Enjoy a more immersive 3D experience
With 3D available on all Blu-ray Home Cinema systems, and most Blu-ray Disc™ players, and more 3D movies being released in 2011, a 3D Blu-ray Disc™ player such as the BDP-S480 is an ideal way to bring exciting 3D viewing into your home.
The 2011 Home Cinema range also features innovative sound technologies to add extra excitement to movies and sports. A Home Cinema system like the BDV-E380 features 3D surround sound with speakers which can be automatically calibrated to give immersive 3D sound around the room.
And of course you still have all the features that make Blu-ray from Sony unique: highly detailed Full High Definition viewing for your 2D movies and industry-leading quick loading times.
Clear the room from the clutter of cables
Built-in Wi-Fi is available on Blu-ray Disc™ players such as the BDP-S580 so you can connect to the Internet or your home network without the clutter of cables.
Other Blu-ray Disc™ players such as the BDP-S380 are Wireless LAN Ready. Just connect an optional USB Wi-Fi adapter and you’re ready to enjoy the simplicity of connecting without wires.
Home Cinema systems such as BDV-E780W and BDV-E980W offer an even more comprehensive cable-free solution with built-in Wi-Fi and wireless rear speakers delivering surround sound with no unsightly wires.
Discover smarter ways to connect
The new Blu-ray and Home Cinema range from Sony makes it even easier to connect to devices all over your home.
New Blu-ray Disc™ Home Cinema systems now feature two HDMI® inputs so you can easily connect a games console or set-top box. Blu-ray Disc™ players also have two USB connections: ideal for plugging in a Hard Disk Drive, USB memory stick or adding a Wi-Fi adapter to the BDP-S380 and BDP-S480.
You can even set up your smartphone as a remote control using free iPhone and Android apps. Use your phone to adjust settings on your Blu-ray player, as a keyboard for typing when you go online, or easily find what you’re looking for using enhanced search capabilities.
Find online videos using BRAVIA Internet Video Cross Search or look for related information on Twitter or Wikipedia. There’s also Video Search which lets you quickly and easily access the Gracenote® database to find information about whatever you’re watching.
Home Cinema systems for 2011 also feature improved iPod, iPhone and WALKMAN® docking so you can easily share all your favourite music, videos and photos with everyone.
