The Great British Entrepreneur Awards have announced a sponsorship agreement with Bizcrowd, a social platform for UK businesses powered by RBS and NatWest, for 2013. The partnership will see the inaugural awards become the benchmark for entrepreneurial success in the UK.

The awards, set to take place on 19 November, will see the great and good of British entrepreneurship being acknowledged and celebrated in an exclusive ‘red carpet’ event. In addition, a further three Bizcrowd events in association with the Great British Entrepreneur Awards will be taking place across the UK during Global Entrepreneurship Week (18 — 24 November), and an exclusive networking event announcing the shortlisted entrants will occur in October.

Bizcrowd is a free to use social network, directly connecting businesses to suppliers and vice versa so that they can trade together.

Ewan MacLeod, Head of Bizcrowd, said: “Our online community is all about encouraging business growth, so we’re proud to play our part in celebrating entrepreneurship at these awards. We’re also looking forward to engaging with businesses and welcoming them to our free online trading community.”

Simon Burton, Founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said: “Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of the economy and as the only set of accolades to celebrate British entrepreneurship, we are delighted to have Bizcrowd as our headline sponsors of the awards. With a focus on small to medium enterprises, Bizcrowd echoes the Great British Entrepreneur Awards ethos making this a perfect partnership.”

The awards are still open to enter and with categories from social to service industry; manufacturing to micro and from the digital to those serving entrepreneurs, the awards cover all areas of British entrepreneurship.
