BAE Systems are to open their new Samlesbury facility in order to increase US F-35 jet fuselage production.
The £150 million site in Lancashire will enable plant workers to produce a fuselage every day compared with the current one-a-week rate.
"F-35 is an important programme for BAE Systems and the capabilities that this facility provides are equal to anywhere in the world," Chris Allam, Senior Vice President, said.
"We're using state-of-the-art machines and manufacturing techniques to ensure we can meet the rates of production that the F-35 programme demands."
