Apple has today announced a new social network called Ping which will be part of iTunes.
Launching the new service Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO said;
“iTunes is the number one music community in the world with over 160 million iTunes users in 23 countries and now we’re adding social networking with Ping.”
Users will be able to engage in activities that are already available on Facebook or Twitter such as; following friends or posting thoughts and comments — the difference is now you’ll be able to see what music your friends are listening to and follow artists
Jobs also introduced new versions of the iPod Nano and Shuffle at the media event in San Francisco.
