Amazon has announced plans to create 1,000 new jobs in its distribution centres.
The online retailer has eight distribution centres in the UK, where the majority of its 6,000-strong workforce are based.
"As we see greater demand, we are able to rapidly grow our talented team across the UK," said Amazon's director of UK operations, John Tagawa.
Amazon said it couldn't reveal a regional breakdown of where the jobs would be created. The online retailer's distribution centres are based in Doncaster, Dunfermline, Gourock, Hemel Hempstead, Milton Keynes, Peterborough, Rugeley and Swansea Bay.
It has already increased it's UK workforce by 2,000 employs over the past two years and has implemented a number of policies "for the benefit of its entire workforce", like four-day weeks and shares for workers who've been with Amazon for more than a year.
