Sunday (February 25) marked 3 months to go until the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is enforced. Although most businesses have started implementing their journey to compliance, many are still far from being GDPR ready in time.
In fact, a recent poll found that over a third (39 per cent) of organisations are not confident that they will be compliance by the May 25th deadline.
GDPR will impact almost all areas of a business, however, sales and marketing teams will be one of the most impacted departments, due to the amount of data they process on a daily basis.
Marketers must have a valid lawful basis in order to process personal data. Furthermore, important considerations must be made to individual rights such as the right to be forgotten and the right to object to profiling.
For many organisations, they know that they will not be fully compliant by the deadline and that GDPR compliance is, in fact, a journey rather than a deadline.
The GDPR Conference Europe: Roadmap for Sales and Marketing aims to help sales and marketing teams on their journey to compliance, whether they have just started or they are further down the line.
The one day conference will feature 10 keynote presentations and live panel discussions offering specialist guidance, actionable steps to compliance and a chance for delegates to ask any burning questions they may have.
The data protection experts speaking at the event include:
• Chris Combemale, Group CEO, DMA,
• Adil Akkus, GDPR Programme Manager at AXA Investment Managers
• Ian West, Director of Digital Information Services, Project One
