The clocks go forward an hour
By Claire West
Don't forget that the clocks go forward!
Although we are 'losing' an hour's sleep we can look forward to lighter evenings and the start of Spring and Summer.
British Summer time will start on Sunday 27 March at 1.00 am GMT throughout European Union Member States. The clocks go forward an hour. This means that at 1.00 am (GMT) the UK will move to 2.00 am British Summer Time (BST).
Since 2002 the European Union member states have harmonised, for an indefinite period, the dates on which summer time begins and ends as the last Sundays in March and October respectively - summer time begins and ends at 1.00 am GMT in each Member State.
