GUY LEVINE @guylevine

20101105_160921_GuyLevine-Photo.jpgGuy Levine, a serial entrepreneur, a husband and father and thrill seeking helicopter pilot. I am CEO of the digital marketing agency Return On Digital which I established at the end of 2008. I spend my time leading a group of ‘ninja’ marketers and globetrotting sharing our pearls of wisdom at various conferences. In my past life I was part of the .com boom and at 30 years of age am proud to say I have never received a pay packet from anyone else but myself. A little bit different from my school report which always suggested I never tried hard enough.

When not at work, I can be found on my bike. The combination of lycra and carbon fibre is a winner, although my wife doesn’t think it looks as cool as I do. If I could do anything, I think the Tour De France would be the ultimate. I even drove a 600 mile round trip to go for a ride with Lance Armstrong. I just didn’t know 700 people would also be there!

NICK JAMES @freshnick

20101105_165154_NickJames.jpg

Nick launched www.freshbusinessthinking.com four years ago and with almost zero marketing spend it has become the leading web portal for owners, directors and entrepreneurs of UK businesses with 60,000 plus monthly visitors.

Prior to launching the site Nick had spent most of his working life in the events industry on both sides of the Atlantic and realised that the traditional exhibition or trade show shared characteristics with an information website and that the biggest similarity was the need for quality content.

Fresh relevant content is what gets a website noticed by people and search engines — a website without decent content is never going to engage with an audience.

Simon Campbell is a multilingual entrepreneur who has set up and built five businesses over the past decade. Based in Barcelona for 8 years, Simon founded and launched successful companies in the IT, advertising, publishing and fashion sectors in both Spain and the UK, before moving back to London and into the postal sector. His key skills are based in fundraising, commercial and strategic business development.

Most recently, prior to The Sandpit, Simon built ViaPost from initial business plan through launch and into growth stage in three years as CEO, along the way raising around £2M of capital from private investors and putting the business on the map by creating a strong brand, key strategic partnerships (such as Microsoft) and numerous sales into large and small businesses.

Having managed the restructure of the business in Summer 2009 which saw final stage capital to see the business through to breakeven, Simon stepped down as CEO in April 2010 and took up a Non-Executive role enabling him to focus on the more strategic opportunities for ViaPost both in the UK and internationally.

Simon launched The Sandpit in September 2010; a business established to find/develop the best technologies in the sales and marketing space and take them to market in the UK and US. The first business unit within The Sandpit is SEO Sandpit, based around an exciting blogging and content management system developed by one of the leading brains in SEO in the UK.
