Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic. Useful for monitoring your brand and competitors. In conjunction use getclicky.com which may provide a more detailed view than Google Alerts.

Slideshare has been around for a couple of years but it is a great way to generate a deeper understanding of your proposition and business in a shareable format , slides, documents and professional videos and forms part of social media due to it shareable nature. It’s also a great resource for finding out information on any topic you wish to consider further.

Google Toolbar, even though you may not like the information Google collects on your online habits through Google Toolbar for Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Google Page Rank takes some beating as it allows you to understand how your page rank of your site and those of your competitors work; also useful when understanding your SEO.
